Antique “The Silver Box” Story Book With Original Portrait Drawing Cover

One of a kind 1925 publication of "The Silver Box" featuring an original portrait drawing on the dust jacket cover by Wayne Trimm. There are two additional original drawings on the first two pages of the book. Trimm was an established wildlife illustrator, writer, and speaker well known for his bird illustrations. The book came out of his estate, and will come with one of his old business cards. The Silver Box is a three-act comedy, the first play by the English writer John Galsworthy. It was originally produced in London in 1906. In the play, the disappearance of a cigarette box (the silver box) leads to a comparison of the behavior of the son of a prosperous politician, with that of an unemployed man, and the exposure of attitudes of different social classes.The book itself is in overall nice antique condition showing normal age and wear. The dust jacket is in poor antique condition showing wear and tear throughout, and is separated/ torn into two pieces.
