Beautiful set vintage Peterson field guide books with tons of illustrations and info on trees and shrubs, and ferns. "A Field Guide To Trees And Shrubs: Field marks of all trees, shrubs, and woody vines that grow wild in the northeastern and north-central US and in south-eastern and south central Canada" and "A Field Guide To The Ferns: Their related families of north and central north america with a section on species also found in the british isles and western europe". Amazing reference book for artists and/or foragers! These books belonged to Wayne Trimm, who was an established wildlife illustrator, writer, and speaker well known for his wild life illustrations. Each contains illustrations, diagrams, maps, and all the info you'll ever need on ferns, trees and shrubs. The books themselves are in great vintage condition showing normal age and wear throughout, the dust jackets are in poor condition showing a good amount of wear and tear throughout.
Each measures approx 4 7/8" x 7 1/2" Fern book published in 1956 281 numbered pages. Trees and Shrubs book published in 1958 431 numbered pages.
